Jumeirah Earth Couse and its sister course Fire, opened in 2009 and are the first Greg Norman designs in the Gulf. The owners have allowed this course to be open for two years so that it has matured before opening it to the public. The fairways are fairly open which could be considered generous, but take care as the greens are large and sloping and you could leave yourself with a series of long and difficult putts due to excellent pin placement. The fairways of the Jumeirah Earth Course are surrounded by bleached white sand bunkers and this same sand was imported from North Carolina. Outside of the fairways and bunkers you will find wood chip which makes your ball easy to find, but not so easy to hit once you have found it! This looks like a great course to play!
Jumeirah Earth golf course
The wind on The Jumeirah Earth Course can be severe on some holes & throws up unpredictable scenarios. Water is strategically in play on some of the holes & it is usually a daunting feature which forces golfers into rethinking club selection & strategy. One of the best examples is the 18th hole – a uphill 651 yard Par 5 where a meandering water stream runs all along the center of the fairway – making a perfect shot down the center of the fairway a nightmare.
