Evergreen Hills Golf Club is a hidden gem of a course, with probably the best maintained course this side of Augusta. Off the beaten tourist track around an hour from Kanchanaburi lies Evergreen Hills Golf Club, a locally designed course with a growing reputation for excellent year-round maintenance that ensures pristine conditions. The clubhouse facilities are adequate and clean if unspectacular, but you'll be coming for the golf and in that respect, Evergreen Hills is stunning.
How to play Evergreen Hills Golf Club?
The putting surfaces are like a snooker table, and the carpet-like fairways and velvety tee boxes are of a similar high standard. Only the bunkers could be in better shape, but its a minor gripe and in all other respects this is on a par with courses such as Augusta for the sheer quality of its playing surface. Whilst not particularly long or overly tricky, there is still enough here to keep you coming back for more, especially the standout 17th and amongst the trickiest 353 yards you will ever have to negotiate. If you can avoid the water that runs all the way down the left of the fairway, there is a further water hazard to be negotiated before you can try your hand on the tricky, sloping green that runs as fast and true as all the others. What the caddies lack in English they make up for with excellent knowledge of the greens, and an efficiently run pro-shop ensures that tee times are rigidly stuck to, so don't turn up late.
