Opened in October 2003, Alcanada Golf features a privileged setting of natural terrain and a construction-free site right next to the Mediterranean. Designed by legendary golf course architects Robert Trent Jones Sr and Jr. The virgin terrain gently slopes down towards the shoreline, with its pine, olive and oak trees and there is a marvellous view of the island of Alcanada with lighthouse in the foreground, and the mountains of the Sierra de Levante in the background. This course is a must for every golfer.
How to play Alcanada Golf?
Alcanada Golf has 4 par 5s, 8 par 4s and 4 par 3s. It is a stunning course on the water. Long and tough but enjoyable. Be prepared for a treat: the course winds in and out of the hills for the first 4-5 holes, then you move up to the top and play downward. The middle holes on the course keep you entertained up and down the hillside, while the last 4-5 holes takes you down to the water and beachside, more flat and straight. Hole 1 will require some strategic thinking, and is a good start to the course, as you will need both brains, strength and creativity to play this hole well.
