Mijas Golf Los Olivos Course is designed by Robert Trent Senior. Although both are the work of the same designer, there is no doubt there are interesting contrasts between the two courses: if Los Lagos are based on hazards of water and sand, Los Olivos is strategic narrow tree lined fairways and elevated greens.
The main feature which distinguishes Mijas Golf Los Olivos from The Lakes is the abundance of trees hence the name and its smaller size, as well as fewer water hazards. The greens are smaller, undulating and well defended. Los Olivos is the shorter course, but narrower; you will have to adjust using more club than normal as there is little run on the ball. The first 9 is very different to the back 9.
