One of Spain’s Canary Islands, La Gomera is increasingly popular for La Gomera golf holidays.

Part of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, La Gomera is a dramatic combination of rain-forest covered ravines, lush olive and fruit groves and stunning views. Culinary specialities include the distinctive local palm syrup, wines, cheeses, and meats such as roasted goat.

History buffs will be interested to know that Christopher Columbus made La Gomera his last port of call before crossing the Atlantic in 1492. With a population of only 20,000, the island is the second smallest of the seven main Canary Islands and you can be sure of a warm welcome.

The region also boasts some top golf facilities. Tecina Golf Course in La Gomera consists of three hundred thousand square metres devoted to the playing area, while almost exactly a third is dedicated to paths and landscaped tropical gardens. The course is located on the slopes of Tecina and enjoys spectacular views of the valley and the Atlantic Ocean with the majestic Mount Teide in the distance.
