A conveniently located and attractive course, but unless you can hit straight a good score is hard to come by. Open well before the Thailand golf boom of the 1990s and consequently a local favourite, the Krungthep Kreeta Sports Club was entirely redesigned in the mid-90s to present more of a challenge to the influx of golf tourists. So now in addition to the mature trees which are often rare on more recently opened courses, there are a whole host of water hazards, and many fairways are bordered by trouble on both sides making straight hitting the key to any sort of good score. If you aren't accurate off the tee then be prepared for a frustrating day, the opening holes in particular being particularly testing. Even if you can make it on in regulation, the greens are strangely deceptive so it's an idea to start by trusting the caddies' suggested line, at least until they prove themselves as baffled as you. Overall, a tough challenge for all but the best golfers, so unless you play off a low handicap or are feeling particularly confident this may not be the course for you. If you do fancy your chances, then bear in mind that Krungthep Kreeta Sports Club's proximity to downtown Bangkok makes this a popular course, so getting an early tee time is the only way to get round quickly. Like the sound of this course? Secure a tee time and take advantage of the discounted green fees on offer by adding Krungthep Kreetha Sports Club to your Bangkok golf holiday package.
