The green foothills of the Alps are a wonderful setting for this course situated only 12 km from the Old city of Bergamo Alta, known for its art and medieval architecture. The course is surrounded by a luxuriant vegetation of conifers and broadleaved trees providing a pleasantly cool climate which is wonderful in summer. Golf Club L Albenza was founded nearly forty years ago and is one of the most beautiful and demanding courses in Italy, set in a beautiful landscape, it boasts one of the longest par-5 holes in Europe. Originally an 18-hole course, another 9 holes have been added later on. They are characterized by rather small and well-protected greens, many trees and streams. In 1996 the Italian Open was held here.
