Slovakia
SLOVAKIA
This European state may not be the obvious choice for golf holidays in Slovakia but don’t let its relative anonymity fool you – this beautiful and peaceful country at the heart of Europe should be top of your list.
Stunning scenery, friendly people, and inexpensive shopping are just a few of its attractions, as well as picturesque cities and towns, cliff top castles, and a thriving café culture.
The capital city of Bratislava is a blossoming hub of culture. It has an interesting mix of old and new architecture so expect to see modern buildings dotted along its skyline. The historic centre is a step back in time however, with its charming combination of rococo buildings decorated in pastel colours, pretty plazas, and buzzing restaurants and cafés which come alive after dark.
Slovakia’s climate is continental, with warm summers and mild winters, although the mountain regions can be colder. Bratislava in the warmer southern region sees summer temperatures as high as 37°C.
With good value internal public transport and flights, Slovakia is also easily accessible from the rest of Europe.
